OVERAL MISSION :

The Documentalist is responsible for managing a collection of documentation, in compliance with legal regulations, budget constraints, and operating procedures designed with their input, based on editorial directives. They report hierarchically to a Chief Editor and the position is attached to the support of the Central Newsroom in Brussels.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Compilation of the documentation collection, selection of topics, formatting of descriptions, indexing of texts, images, sounds, etc.
• Research for documentation in response to the needs of the Editorial team
• They are attentive to technical developments and participate in equipment selection.
•  They respect operating procedures and provide first-level maintenance.
• They participate in service meetings and propose operational improvements.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION :

Technical Skills :

• Required education level: Bachelor’s degree in library science.
• Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of media documentation.
• Knowledge of specific legislation.
• Proficiency in the use of specific software.
• Proficient in written and oral French (C2 level) and English (B2 level).

• Good interpersonal skills.

HIERARCHICAL AUTHORITY :

• No hierarchical responsibility.
• Mentoring of “new” employees, trainees.

CONTRACT INFORMATION :

• Location: Brussels.
• Contract type: Permanent contract.
• Working hours: Full-time Monday to Sunday shift with night shifts
• Contract start date: March 2024.
