Do you want to become our new collection employee (full-time, 12 months with a chance of extension, starting in August 2025)? Then apply before June 15th.

Job description

Do you care about heritage? And are you looking for a job that combines behind-the-scenes work with direct contact with the public? Then you might be the colleague we are looking for.

Amsab-ISG is looking for a versatile collection employee (full-time, for 12 months with possible extension, starting in August 2025) to strengthen our team. You will help manage our heritage collection and make it available to the public.

Your task package is varied and consists of two major parts. On the one hand, you will help register the collection. You will mainly process the library collection, but where necessary you will also be deployed on other collections. On the other hand, you will be part of the team that is responsible for the service provision. As a permanent replacement in the reading room, you will support visitors in their research, make the collection available for consultation, and answer information requests. Depending on the needs, one task package will weigh more heavily than the other at times.

You will join a team of about 15 collection employees.

Become part of the Amsab-ISG team

Amsab Institute for Social History is the memory of social movements and socially committed people who oppose injustice and inequality. In their quest for equality, sustainability and a better quality of life, themes such as labour, environment, migration, gender, human rights and global justice are central.

As a cultural archive, we guarantee the preservation and protection of this heritage: letters, reports, posters, photos, films, books, but also digital archives and so much more. You can consult all of this in our reading room or online. Through research, publications, our magazine Brood & Rozen, exhibitions and other public projects, we reveal the often invisible hidden histories behind this heritage.
