About the job
As a Corporate Librarian, you will be at the heart of our global pharmaceutical operations: you will ensure seamless access to high‑quality scientific information, manage content licensing, and champion copyright compliance, enabling teams worldwide to make informed decisions and drive innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Curate and deliver scientific literature end‑to‑end:
- Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of research content and troubleshoot access issues.
- Negotiate and manage content licensing:
- Lead vendor discussions on pricing, subscriptions (including SSO vs individual access), recommend new resources, benchmark deals, and optimize global licenses.
- Administer literature platforms (e.g., RightFind Enterprise):
- Monitor usage metrics, provide group & 1:1 training, resolve access issues, manage user/agency access, and participate in beta testing.
- Provide expert copyright guidance:
- Act as corporate Copyright Officer, maintain multinational licenses, co-own company policy, and deliver trainings/workshops.
- Support biomedical research & intelligence:
- Design complex search strategies, set up alerts, run ad‑hoc drug safety queries, and assist in KOL mapping.
- Drive best practices in scientific communication & AI
- Educate on scholarly publishing standards (open access, AI ethics), pilot automation tools, and maintain a directory of AI-enabled platforms.
- Lead training and outreach initiatives:
- Host monthly open office hours, annual copyright sessions, customized literature search coaching, and vendor-led training on our intranet.
- Optimize vendor partnerships & financial oversight:
- Co-manage content tracking, monitor cost vs usage, recommend license renewals/cancellations, and align subscriptions with corporate dynamics.
Requirements:
- 5–7+ years in corporate, academic, or medical libraries focused on pharmaceutical/biomedical domains
- Global pharma industry experience is a plus
- MLIS or MS/PhD in a biomedical/scientific discipline
- Copyright Specialist certification is preferred
- Expertise in licensing electronic resources (e.g., PubMed, Embase, RightFind)
- Strong copyright knowledge and advice
- Analytical skills to drive decisions from usage statistics
- Budget management for strategic resource deployment
- Proficient in biomedical database searching (MeSH, Emtree) and pharma workflows
- Knowledge of drug development, clinical trials, regulatory processes, and scientific publishing
- Excellent communicator, problem-solver, and organizer
- Agile mindset and capacity to build capabilities in evolving environments
- Fluent in English (verbal & written)
Preferred Assets:
- Familiarity with data visualization (Tableau, Power BI) and text-mining tools
- Experience with APIs, AI tools, and digital transformation projects
- Training delivery skills and adoption of interactive learning formats
- Membership in ALA, SLA, AMWA, EMWA, ISMPP
- Track record of implementing modern information systems
