Across the campuses, and under the motto of \u201cstudying and living Europe together\u201d, the College hosts every year approximately 500 students of over 50 different nationalities, pursuing advanced Master\u2019s programmes with a duration of 10 months in a residential format. All staff members contribute to the College mission with professional dedication, a spirit of pro-active collegiality and mutual respect.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">For more information about the College, please visit our\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coleurope.eu\/\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">website<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"EN-US\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>The Role<\/strong><\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Based in Bruges, the Library Officer will be working under the supervision of the Library Director, contributing\u00a0to\u00a0electronic information resource\u00a0services\u00a0as well as overall\u00a0library operations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">The main tasks\u00a0and responsibilities\u00a0of the Library Officer:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">You enable user access to\u00a0electronic resources\u00a0by cataloguing and\u00a0maintaining\u00a0e-resource\u00a0records;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">You monitor,\u00a0review\u00a0and\u00a0negotiate\u00a0contracts\u00a0for online resources, in line\u00a0with provided budgets and in collaboration with the Library Director;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">You advise\u00a0the Library Director on the purchase of e-resources (journals, databases) after discussing it with academic stakeholders;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">You act as the first point of contact for library enquiries from\u00a0students,\u00a0staff\u00a0and external visitors in person, by phone or by email;\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Together with other colleagues from the library, you staff the information desk (during weekdays and\u00a0exceptionally\u00a0on\u00a0Saturdays);<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">You perform administrative tasks, such as following up invoices and preparing public procurement files;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">You assess\u00a0electronic resource\u00a0usage\u00a0and collect user\u2019s feedback;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-GB\">You actively follow\u00a0developments in\u00a0open access and relevant technologies, such as AI and transfer knowledge to library users.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>Your\u00a0profile<\/strong><\/span><\/em><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">For the position of Library Officer, the College is looking for candidates with:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">A\u00a0bachelor\u2019s or master\u2019s degree;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Preferably two years\u00a0of professional experience in the library sector;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-US\">Excellent command of English and Dutch;
